Barbara Lynn Rawdon, of Moore, Oklahoma, born August 23, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away September 6, 2016, at the age of 64. Barbara was a graduate of Moore High School, Class of 1970. She worked for John A. Browns and Rothschild’s department stores before being employed by Uncle Sam through Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). She started out as a clerk and worked her way up through the years, retiring as the District Adjudication Officer for Oklahoma City.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 43 years, Clyde G. Rawdon, II; two children - Melissa Shawver and Jason Rawdon; five grandchildren – Justice, Hunter, Jason Jr, Sasha and Tatum; one great-grandchild - Noah; her three siblings – Gary, Deanna, and Stacy; and her mother Edna Richardson.
Aside from Clyde and her family, the love of her life was her girls – The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Barbara joined Rainbow as a girl, and served Moore Assembly as Worthy Advisor, and later as Mother Advisor. She continued her work with this Masonic Youth Order and served the State of Oklahoma as State Mother Advisor and as a Grand Executive Committee Member. This was her life’s work and she enjoyed every minute of time with her girls and the adults advisors who shared her joy of Rainbow.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, September 9, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church of Moore, 201 W. Main Street, Moore, OK. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Norman, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
