WILLIAMSPORT — William J. Thompson, 70, of 2008 Misner Road, Williamsport, died in his home at 11 p. m. Saturday, June 15. He was the father of Grover Thompson of Woodland.
Born at Grampian, April 11, 1898, a son of the late John and Irene (Milner) Thompson, he is survived by his wife, the former Elma Hillard, his son at Woodland; a daughter, Mrs. Cleo Griffey of Williamsport, and the following stepchildren:
Mrs. Dorothy Sours, Mansfield; Mrs. Mildred Booth, Williamsport: Clarence English, Trout Run; Clinton English, Muncy. and William English, Unityville.
A sister, Mrs Florence Beatty of Altoona also survives.
He was s. member of the First Assembly of God Church at Williamsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a. m. Wednesday in the Knight Funeral Home, 1912 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. The Rev. Victor C. Brown will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday in the Mock Hill Cemetery at West Decatur.
Friends may call in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p. m. tomorrow.
