Fairfax- Hosea Pressley Bowers, 67, of Fairfax, died Saturday afternoon in a Jacksonville, Fla hospital after a short illness. He was visiting his daughter there.
He was a son of the late H P Bowers and Priscilla Rentz Bowers of Hampton, where he made his home until three years ago, when he moved to Fairfax.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs Mattie Corbin Bowers of Fairfax; six daughters, Mrs Tommy Davy, Mrs Frank Wainwright, both of Jacksonville, Fla; Mrs Hilbert Padgett and Mrs J W Nicholson of Hampton, Mrs Bruce Harter and Miss Margie Bowers of Fairfax; three sons, Junior P Bowers of Hampton, Sgt Harold Bowers of USAF at Houston, Texas, and Sgt Luter Bowers of the U S Army in Germany; one brother, Ponipher Bowers of Ehrhardt and one sister, Mrs Jimmy Bray, of Burnell, Fla.
Services will be held at 3 pm Tuesday at the graveside in Bowers Cemetery.
