Mrs. Cameron Passes Away

Gertie Serena Cameron, wife of Dan H. Cameron of this place, died last Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Koons where she had been staying during her illness.

Mrs. Cameron gave birth to a daughter at 2 o'clock the same morning and never rallied from the shock. She has been in somewhat poor health for several months but, nevertheless, her sudden passing away was unexpected and a heavy bow to her husband and 7-year-old son who, besides the newly born infant, are left to mourn the untimely death of wife and mother.

She was born at Minneapolis and at the time of her demise she was 28 years, 1 month and 10 days old.

Cause of death: Uraemia (caused by kidney failure) with myocarditis & chronic nephritis (inflammation from infection that reaches the kidneys).

1900 Census: Pete Christopherson (42) born October 1858 in Norway and immigrated 1885, was living at Black Brook, Polk, Wisconsin. Occupation - farming. He was married to Tillie Christopherson (32) born April 1868 in Norway and immigrated 1882. They were married in 1890 and had been married 10 years. Children: Gertie (12) born October 1887 in Minnesota, Clara (10) born September 1889 in Minnesota, Ernest (6) born October 1893 in Wisconsin, Thorwald (3) born December 1896 in Wisconsin, and Bert (1) born November 1898 in Wisconsin.

1905: Death of Peter Christopherson, May 18 1905 in Polk County, Wisconsin.

1905 Wisconsin Census: Mrs. Tilda Christopherson (37) born about 1868 in Norway, was widowed and living at Black Brook, Polk, Wisconsin. Children: Gertie Serine (17), Clara P (15), Henry E (11), Thorwald C (8), Berth J (6), Cordelia J (4), and Olga M (1).

1906: Marriage of Dan Cameron & Gertie Christopherson, April 8 1906 in Beltrami County, Minnesota.

1909: Birth of son Donald Cameron, January 6 1909 in Morrison County, Minnesota.

1910 Census: Daniel H Cameron (35) born about 1875 in Minnesota, was living in Summit, Beltrami, Minnesota. Occupation - hotel clerk. He was married to Gertie Cameron (22), born about 1888 in Minnesota. They had been married 4 years and had 2 children, 1 living. Their child - Donald (1). Also living with them was Gertie's young sister - Cordelia Christopherson born about 1901 in Wisconsin.

1915: Birth of baby girl, November 21 1915 in Beltrami County, Minnesota. [There is no further record of this daughter - she may have been adopted by another family.]
