Elmer John Delage, 51, of Crookston, MN, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 3, 2016.

Elmer was born on October 16, 1964, in Crookston, MN to Clarence and Doritta (Prudhomme) Delage. He attended Crookston Public Schools, and remained in Crookston his whole life. Elmer held various jobs in the community, which included working at Gary's Body Shop, Joe Delage Construction, Phoenix Industries, New Flyer of America, and most recently at Boll Farms.

Elmer was a member of St Peter's Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and talking with his friends. He especially liked his ice fishing trips with Pat Bruggeman to Lake of the Woods. He had a great love for his dog, Tootsie. He was the kind of person that would always be there for you, no matter what.

Elmer was a special man with many traits. He will be missed by family, friends, and even people at the Snowsled Inn. Let me tell ya he even kept the doors open himself just going there. We will definitely have an empty spot in our hearts for him. We will miss the laughs and silly stuff we all remember from Elmer, as a father, uncle, brother, etc.

Elmer is survived by a daughter: Crystal Ray of Crookston, MN; brothers, Roger (Dee) Delage and George (Kristi) Delage; sisters, Caroline (Randy) Green and Cheryl (Scott) Manteufel, all of Crookston, MN.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Doritta Delage; brothers, David and Kevin Delage; and a nephew, Rory Delage. May God bless Elmer's memory.

There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral and Cremation Service in Crookston, MN. Inurnment will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
