Daniel Schrantz, 85, died last Saturday. With the passing of Daniel Schrantz, Taylor township has lost one of its oldest an most respected farmer citizens. He died last Saturday at his home one mile southwest of Mineral, following a long illness of infirmities of old age--being at the time of his death past eighty-five years.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, Edward Schrantz of Sunnyside, Wash., and Will Schrantz, Bloomfield; and two daughters, Mrs. Anna Mattern, Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Ira Crossman, Bloomington.
A short service was held at the home at 1:00 o'clock Monday, and the funeral cortege went to Simpson Chapel where a service was held in charge of Rev. Ronald Secrist of the Antioch Christian Church.
Interment was in the nearby cemetery.
