Isabella Hayden/Haydon was born September 1834 in Bedford County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Jesse Thomson and Rhoda Morris Thomson/Thompson. The Thomson family moved west to Saint Louis, Missouri and it was there she met and married William Waller Hayden February 17, 1859. William Hayden enlisted in the Confederate Army and fought for the Confederacy. He was killed during the Battle of Chancellorsville in May 1863. Isabella was left to raise their only daughter Alice William "Allie Willie" Hayden with the help of several Virginia relatives who had also made the move to the Saint Louis area. Allie Willie was quite an accomplished musician. She met and married Howard Slonacre Bunting. They had 7 children before Allie Willie was tragically killed in a house fire in a laundry building adjacent to the Bunting home. (1908)This tragedy was heavily covered by many of the Fort Worth news agencies. Isabella lived with the Bunting family and raised her 6 motherless grandchildren until her death in 1917.
