Richard Anthony Bowers, 84, of Eldridge, IA passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 after complications from a stroke. Family and friends are invited to a casual celebration of his life will be held at The Runge Mortuary from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Runge Mortuary. He was born on December 22, 1931 the son of William and Mary (Kozakowski) Bowers in Reading, PA. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Koran Conflict. Richard was united in marriage to Ruth Kaus and divorced. Later he married Sharon K. Williams and she preceded him in death on February 1, 2012.
Richard worked as a U.S. Trustee under Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Courts under the Attorney General for over 40 years. He enjoyed golfing, playing cribbage and visiting the casino.
Those left to honor his memory include children: Mike (Barb) Bowers, Cindy Bowers, Lori (Bob) Hadley, Tony (Jen) Bowers and Nick Bowers; grandchildren: Jeff, Jim, Kaylee, Taylor and Jamie Bowers; and five great grandchildren.
