Fred H. Evans, 79, 6990 East 4th, died Sept. 13, 1989, at St. John's Hospital, Salina. Born April 15, 1910, at Langdon, he married Minnie Roberson June 16, 1935, near Haven. He was a retired blacksmith, welder and farm equipment repairman, and a lifetime resident of Reno County.

He was a member of the Bassett Masonic Lodge No. 124, Hutchinson.

Survivors: wife, of the home; son, Murriel, La Quinta, Calif.; daughters, Evelyn Belt, 716 North Kent, Delores Lakin, Junction City; brother Bennie Evans, 21 East First, South Hutchinson; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, the Rev. Gary Getting. Burial will be in the Darlow Cemetery, Darlow. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may go to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation in care of the mortuary. – The Hutchinson News
