Services for Raymond O. Vosburgh, 77 year old Weatherford resident who died at Little Bird Nursing Home Saturday morning after an extended illness, were to be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Phil Ware, minister, and the Rev. Susan Ross, associate minister, were to officiate. Burial under direction of Lockstone Funeral Home, was to be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Born Dec. 4 1905, at Carterville, Mo., Mr. Vosburgh moved with his family to a farm east of Weatherford in 1907. He attended the Normal View School and later Southwestern State Teachers College, receiving degrees in arts and sciences. He was a teacher for many years having taught at Bessie, Apache, Stroud and Minco before being drafted into the Army during World War II. After his discharge he returned home and took care of his parents for seven years, before becoming associated with the Clinton Livestock Auction and later clerked many sales in the Custer County area for a number of auctioneers. Mr. Vosburgh had worked for the McPhetridge Motor co. for a number of years as a bookkeeper. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Weatherford, the Barber Shop Quartets and is a former member of the American Legion.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Edith Naline Lemaster, Redding, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Annabell hatter, Fay.
