Found in The State 09 May 1899 (faded, the following interpretation may be incorrect): Ridgeway, May 8-We regret to announce the death of Mrs. D. G. Robertson which occurred this morning at the old home in Longtown. She was sixty-two years old at the time of her death and had been the constant attendant of her invalid husband for the past two years, but at last succumbed to the strain of both mind and body. The probabilities are that Mr. Robertson will survive her but a short time. Mrs. Robertson was the daughter of Col. Jas. E. Rembert of Sumter county and was married December 5th, 1858. Their marriage was blessed with several children, only one of whom, Mrs. C. P. Wray of this place, survives. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family in this hour of trial. The remains will be carried to Columbia for interment in Elmwood cemetery in their family plot.
