Funeral Services for Carole D. Logston were held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Orleans, Nebraska with Pastor Dave Irwin officiating. Burial followed at the Orleans Cemetery.

Carole Dean Logston, 80 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Carole was born January 30, 1936 in Crete, Nebraska, the third of four children to Charles E. and Mary E. (Baker) Dymacek. She received her primary education from Crete and Orleans schools and graduated from Orleans High School with the class of 1953.

On December 10, 1954, Carole was united in marriage to James Christian Logston at the Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church in rural Dawson County, Nebraska. The couple later moved to Seattle, Washington, and Carole worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield. To this union three children were born: James, Jr., Charles and Jennifer. Carole enjoyed her time as a homemaker and raising the children. She went back to work as a Clerk in the City Retirement office in the mid -1970s. In 1976, the family moved to Orleans and Carole worked for 31 years as a teller and bookkeeper for the Republican Valley Bank.

Carole was a member of the Orleans Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder, the American Legion Auxiliary and PEO. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir and with her husband, James, for many local funerals, needlework, embroidery, knitting and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by; her parents; a sister: Mary Jean Logston; and her brother, Charles Dymacek, in infancy.

She is survived by her husband, Jim of Orleans; her children: James C. “Chris” Logston, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca of Lincoln, Nebraska, Charles E. Logston and his wife, Tricia of Holdrege, Nebraska and Jennifer Smith of Holdrege; seven grandchildren: Heather Logston and her fiancé, Matt Kruse, Shawn Logston and her husband, Ross Krawczyk, Hayden Logston, Devin Logston, Jessica Ruthstrom and her husband, Jonathan, Christian Strickland and Rylee Smith; three great-grandchildren: Finola Krawczyk, Trinity and Emma Ruthstrom and two on the way; brother, James Dymacek and his wife, Janis of Hickman, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Larry Logston of Oxford, Nebraska; along with extended family and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 5, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma.

A memorial has been established in Carole’s honor and kindly suggested to the family, to be designated at a later date.
