JON GREGORY ABSHIRE, 60, of Branchland, W.Va., passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Lincoln Nursing and Rehab. He was born April 16, 1956, a son of the late Alfred and Doris Belcher Abshire. He was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School and a member of the Guyan River Volunteer Fire Department. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Belinda Butcher. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Sheila (Bill) Frazier, Sandy (Danny) Adkins, Bubby Abshire, Della (Doug) Prichard and Michael (Chantell) Abshire; and several nieces and nephews and a special niece, Dorothy Frazier.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016, at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, W.Va., with Timmy Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery, Brady, W.Va. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may express their condolences at www.handleyfh.com.
