"Jacob Christman, an aged and highly respected resident of Argusville, died Monday evening, Dec. 19th, at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Byron Christman, on Florence street in this village, aged 81 years. The cause of death was a general breaking down. He had been complaining for about a week and was only confined to the bed four days. Six weeks ago Mr. Christman came to Cobleskill to spend the winter at the Christman home. He was born in the town of Root and was the son of the late Martin and Sally Christman. He was a war veteran. Sixty one years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Esther Hardendorf, who died four years ago. Nearly all of his life had been spent in Argusville, where he has a large circle of friends, who will hear of his death with regret and sadness. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. H. A. Traber and Mrs. R. D. Gordon of Seward, and one son, Stanton, of Johnstown, and several grandchildren. Tuesday the body was removed to the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. A. Traber, at Seward, where the funeral services were held on Thursday at 10:30 a. m.". Interment at Argusville." ["The Cobleskill Index" (Cobleskill, NY), Dec. 22, 1910, Page 1]
