George Franklin Koons, 75, of Bucyrus, route 2, father of Mrs. Ada Herter of Bucyrus, route 2, died at his home Wednesday noon of heart failure. He had been in failing health for two years but his death was sudden.

Mr. Koons was born August 1, 1868 in Sandusky county to David and Eva (Clapper) Koons, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage August 31, 1891, to Elizabeth Ann Rife, who survives besides two children, Mrs. Herter and Mrs. Grace Doll of Fostoria; four brothers, W.H. of Brokensword, Jacob of Rollersville, Ohio, David of Oklahoma and Scott Koons of Pismo Beach, California; one sister, Mrs. William Reid of Gibsonburg, Ohio; two grandsons, Dale Herter and Floyd Doll, and one great grandchild, Patricia Ann Doll.

He was a farmer and he came to this community from near Fostoria in 1913. He was baptized in the Evangelical church.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 o'clock at the Wise Funeral home with the Rev. C. H. Delauter officiating. Burial will be made in Luckey, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
