Noel George Abbott was born in New Hampshire, May 14, 1853. His parents were Amos and Emily Abbott. When he was two years old his family moves to West Point, Wisconsin and settled on a farm there. He married Rachel Schriner in 1877. He purchased the grocery store in Okee, Wisconsin which he ran for 13 years. They moved to Harrisburg, SD in 1910 and purchased the Harrisburg Journal which he published until the fall of 1916. Due to failing health he moved to Arkansas. After his death Rachel moved back to Harrisburg where she lived until her death in 1939 at the age of 80. The children born to them are: Emily (Mrs. Rolla McCauhn) 1879-1920; Byron 1881-1937; Addison 1884-1968; Ida (Mrs. Gilbert Horton) 1887-1960; Annie (Mrs. Emmet McBride) 1898-1975; and Vesa (Mrs. Marvin Johnson) 1904-1963.
