Jimmy W. Duncan was born in Young County Texas on December 6th 1924. His parents were Harvey and Jennie Duncan. He had 1 brother and 3 sisters. He was raised in Olney, Texas. He graduated from Olney High School in 1944. He was originally rejected by the Military because of a hernia. He got a job at Consolidated Vultee in Ft. Worth. When he earned enough money he had an operation to correct the hernia. He then joined the Army. He was shipped out to the pacific. He eventually joined the 1st Engineers Special Brigade at Okinawa. After the end of the war he was sent to Seoul, Korea. Discharged in 1946 he returned to Olney. In 1947 he met and married Doris L. Douglas. They had 3 children. He worked as a plumber his entire adult life. The last 20 years of his working life was spent self employed.
