Ada Rachel Walters Allender, 82, West Court Street, Burgin, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born April 15, 1920 in Whitley County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lettie Sutton Walters. She was the widow of Charles E. Allender.

She was a former employee of Sportleigh Hall, was a member of Burgin Christian Church, a novice photographer, gardener and was a retired farmer’s wife.

Survivors include: one son, Gary Wiley, a daughter, Glenda Blevins, and a brother, Delbert Walters, all of Danville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Kenny Speakes. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
