Clarence Elbert Brady, 85, of Columbus, Texas, left his earthly body to be in the presence of the Lord and his beloved wife, Alta Mae, on August 25, 2016.
He was born on November 11, 1930 in Houston, Texas to Verna Estelle (Gaines) and Clarence Howth Brady. Clarence considered Rosenberg his home, the place he was raised and where he spent many good years. He was part of the first graduating class of Lamar Consolidated High School, Class of '49. His hobbies included hunting and gunsmithing. Clarence was a very giving and generous man. He lived to serve his family and friends and was always willing to lend his words of wisdom to those in need. He was affectionately known as "PaPaw" to his grandchildren and "Papa" to his great-grandchildren. It is comforting to his family to know that he is "together forever" with his wife, Alta Mae.
In addition to his parents, Clarence is preceded in death by his wife, Alta Mae Brady; and his brother-in-law, Roy James Hausler.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Blackburn and husband, Randy; son, Clarence Wayne Brady; siblings, Betty Sue Ellison and husband, Lloyd, Kenneth Howth Brady and wife, Pat, and Brenda Hausler; grandchildren, Dustin Blackburn and his wife, Grace, and Chad Blackburn and wife, Sherri; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Bridget Sumrall and husband, Brandon, Allison, Ivan, Dominick, Jackson, Victoria, and Reese; great-great-granddaughter, Skylar Sumrall; along with extended family and friends.
