Kenneth was born Oct. 12, 1918, in Danville, to Jesse and Elva Collom Abbott. He attended Cannon Grade School and graduated from Danville High School. He then went on to Officer Candidate School in the U.S. Army Air Force Division. He was a member of the Elks Club and American Legion Post 210. He was a licensed pilot and loved his airplanes. Kenneth worked as a cashier for the Federal Bank of Chicago at the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville.
Kenneth married Lois Palmer in 1943. She preceded him in death in 1989. Survivors include two sons: Randall Abbott of Springfield, and Greg Hasson of Danville; and his life companion, Ferne Hasson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and other siblings.
