Elmer was born on September 26, 1925, in Terry, Montana to Mr. and Mrs. Nels Frette who preceded him in death as well as his brothers: Harold E. Frette and Howard H. Frette. He leaves behind siblings: Raymond N. Frette, Margaret Bosanco, Helen Jensen and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elmer worked many years in Cascade, Montana. He was in the Navy for three years and was honorably discharged in 1946. He continued to work in the Great Falls area until 1965 when he moved to Tacoma to work for the Telephone Company and Big Toy Corporation making slides. He retired in 1990.

Elmer was happy with his 10 acres of land to raise cattle and ride his tractor to work on the many projects not only he had going on, but his friends as well.
