Ellen Louise Smith age 85 of Windfall, IN passed away at 6:45 AM on Sept. 6, 2006 at Autumnwood Extended Care in Tipton, IN. She was born on November 20, 1920 in Tipton County, Indiana to George and Edith (Liston) Smith. (they both are deceased)
Ellen married Jesse Rogers 1938 and he passed away in 1945, she then married James “Bob“ Smith in 1953 and he passed away in 1993.
She worked at home as a housewife, homemaker and a mother. Ellen belonged to the Faith Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Greentown, Indiana and had been a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Windfall. Louise is survived by her children Daniel Rogers of Windfall, Pat Brown of Windfall, Joyce Crain of Kokomo, Cecil Hoover of Edmond, OK and Rodney “Shorty“ Smith of Matthews, IN. Stepchildren include James Smith of Tipton and Christina Jessee of Kentucky. Also surviving are a brother Don Smith of Noblesville and a sister Doris Harrellan of Texas along with grandchildren Daniel Ray, Cheryl Ramey, Jesse Brown, James Brown, Rodney Brown, Daniel Crain, Donna Davis, Charla Palmer, Andrew Smith, Ashley McCracken, 14 great grand and 3 great great grand.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Calling will be on September 10, 2006 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on September 11, 2006 at the Porter Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Luster officiating. Burial will be held in the Brookside Cemetery in Windfall.
