Shirley Ann Owen of Daleville was born May 12, 1941.
She lost her battle wi75294615th cancer Aug. 19, 2016. She graduated from Mount Summit High School with the class of 1959.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph B. Owen; son, Christopher Owen of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Kimberly Owen of Phoenix, Ariz., and son, Alex Owen of Lapel, with wife, Allyson Owen; her grandchildren, Lauren and Tyler Balconi, Phoenix, Ariz., Skyler Owen, Daleville, and Avery and Maddox Owen, Lapel, and siblings, Irene Rehbein (Tempe, Ariz.), Mary Shaw (Lynchburg, Va.), Fannie Beall (New Castle), James Robert Smith (Yorktown), and Ruth Burd (New Castle), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Casher and Mabel Smith of Mount Summit; and siblings, Charles Smith (Middletown), Florence Swann (New Castle), and Flora McCormick (Anderson).
A Celebration of her life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 S. Walnut St., Daleville, with Pastor Glenn Perkins officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday after 2 p.m. Cremation will follow.
