Lovina Fellers. Fellows. Committed from San Joaquin by Judge Joseph H. Pudd April 27th 1896. Age 75 yrs. Nativity, Ohio. Last from Iowa. In California 44 years. Widow. Age of youngest child 45. Maiden name Lovina A. Needles. Date of this attack, Fourteen months ago. No previous attacks. Disease increasing. Disposition, Homicidal. Delusions, Believes that her son would be better off dead. Accompanying disorder or disease, Neuralgia. Diagnoses, Paranoia. Evidence of insanity and condition on a delusion; she fears being poisoned by a physician and son's wife. Her condition seems to be growing worse, until she is almost sleepless. On admission: Memory poor. Is depressed and very obstinate. Refuses food, saying she is nauseated. Pretends to vomit when given a little milk. Says, she wants to get a homeopathic doctor. Physical condition apparently good. Senile Dementia. Admitted April 27th 1896. No property. Lovina is buried at the Cypress Lawn Cemetery, Colma, California. This was verified by the staff at the cemetery a number of years ago when I was researching the Fellers Family.
Her spouse Elias Fellers is my 4th great grand uncle.
