Emma Jean Sitzes, 91, Kokomo, passed away at 9:12 pm, Friday April 20, 2018, at Wellington at Kokomo. She was born June 14, 1926, in Stem, N.C., the daughter of the late John Henry & Ella F. (Slaughter) Bowling. On November 1, 1944, in Durham, N.C., she married Clark Sitzes who preceded her in death September 17, 1999.
Jean retired from General Motors in 1989 after 35 years of service.
Jean is survived by her children, Gloria Sitzes, Kokomo, Wally (Monica) Sitzes, Gatlinburg, TN, and Larry (Susan) Sitzes, Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Karen Rogers, Aletha McDorman, Bethany Fox, Michelle Sitzes, and Wallace "Bear" Sitzes; great-grandchildren, Ashley Neff, Kaylee Wilson, Lindsey Wilson, Nolan Rogers, Brinley Rogers, Adam McDorman, Jacob McDorman, Stephanie Weaver, Kaydee Farnham, Maddy Fox-Moreland, Brycen Fox, and Maverick Fox; great-great-grandchildren Jude Weaver and Amelia McDorman; and brother, Raymond Murray.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Scott Sitzes; and siblings, Alice Combs, Margret Norwood, Willie Murray, and Earl Murray.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel of Peace, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo.
