Patricia Louise Hockemeyer, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Shamrock Care Center in Kingfisher at the age of 80. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Cushing, Ok. Interment will follow at St. Leo’s Cemetery, Cushing, Ok. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.
Patricia was born on June 10, 1936 in Lovington, New Mexico to the late Dewey Baker and Beatrice (Langan) Baker. She grew up near Bristow and graduated high school in Depew. She was baptized as a young girl.
Patricia attended St. Anthony School of Nursing in Oklahoma City. She worked as a registered nurse for more than 50 years.
Patricia married Leo Hockemeyer on September 8, 1961 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Drumright. They were members of the Cushing Country Club for many years. Pat loved playing golf, and was club champion multiple times. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, growing and sharing a vegetable garden with her father, and raising her family.
Survivors include sons Leo Hockemeyer Jr. and wife Stephanie of Lantana, TX., William Dewey Hockemeyer of Frisco, TX., David Hockemeyer and wife Melissa Schroth of Coppell, TX., daughter Beatrice Roe of Ponca City, Ok., grandchildren Julia, Justin, Sean, Emily and Ryan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Leo Hockemeyer, and her daughter-in-law Staci Hockemeyer.
