LIVINGSTON, TEXAS -- Jerry C. Abernathy, 70, of Livingston, Texas was born March 12, 1936 in Callahan County and passed away Saturday, November 25, 2006 at his home. He was a U. S. Army veteran and loved hunting, fishing, restoring his antique car, and spending time with his grandchildren.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Goodell officiating. At his request, his body will be cremated afterwards.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Abernathy and is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Dana Abernathy of Willis; daughters, Deborah Thompson of Clyde and April Acker of Dallas; sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn Irene Culwell of Highlands and Mary and Richard Vantilberg of Fort Worth; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Morgan and Ruby Abernathy of Canton and Benjamin Eli and Margaret Abernathy of Baird; and grandchildren, David Abernathy Jr., Logan Wyatt Abernathy, Devin Fae Abernathy, Lacey Acker, Matthew Acker, Chase Canada, Jeff Canada, and Kevin Canada.
