The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on August 22, 1942 DEATH COMES TO JACOB SCHOTT, 87 CALDWELL -- Jacob Schott, 87, retired farmer of near Carlisle, and a lifelong resident of Noble county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alex Crock of near Carlisle, Friday, shortly before noon, following a six-weeks illness of a heart ailment. He was twice married, first to Mary Ann Miller and following her death to Mary Block, also deceased. Surviving are five daughters and five sons; Mrs. Ben Gerdes of Coldwater; Mrs. Crock; Mrs. William Crum of Canton; Mrs. Eugene Lieser, Cleveland; Mrs. Rose Moran, Maywood, Ill., Isadore, of Louisville, O.,; Edward, Martin and Urban, all of Cleveland and Wilbur of near Caldwell; three brothers, John of Fulda and M. F. and Caster (sic: Casper) of Caldwell. Funeral services will be Monday at 9:30 a. m. in St. Michael's church at Carlisle, with Rev. Father J. J. Donaldson officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery in charge of the Brubach funeral home.
