Alice E. Sheppard, 80, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by family.
She was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Tower Hill, the daughter of Kenneth and Delsie Foor.
Alice married Henry Sheppard in 1958; he later preceded her in death in 1987.
She also was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Sheppard in 1993.
Alice is survived by a sister, Imogene ; stepbrother, Maurice ; daughters, Delores and Hallie six grandchildren:; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Alice was a school bus driver in North Chicago and cook for Franklin Middle School, District #186 in Springfield. She owned her own greenhouse for over 20 years. She also volunteered at HSHS St. John's Hospital Gift Shop for over 10 years.
Alice's hobbies included, ceramics, bowling, gardening, sewing. She was an avid traveler, and, in general, was an all-around fantastic lady.
Alice was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star. She attended Buffalo Christian Church in Buffalo.
