Arabella Edwards was a daughter of Maj. John Henry Edwards, Jr., of Bourbon County, Kentucky, and his first wife, Mary Garrard, and granddaughter of James Garrard, Governor of Kentucky for two terms, from 1796 to 1804. She was named in the will of her father as his daughter, Arabella Perrin. (Bourbon Co. Ky. Will Bk. O, pg. 300; will written June 9, 1848). Arabella and George Heard Perrin had no children. They adopted Eliza Waller, Arabella's niece.
