Joy was a very hard-working woman who was not afraid to put a little muscle into it. She was a very dedicated, caring and loving person. Joy loved all children, but her grandkids were her whole world. She loved spending time with them, whether it was cooking, baking cookies, fishing, or doing cartwheels in the yard.
She loved tending to her roses, going to garage sales and watching Nebraska football games.
She loved her siblings immensely and rather enjoyed picking on them and playing practical jokes on them.
Joy is survived by her husband, Don Kingsley; daughter, Tina Henderson; her five grandkids, Starla, Levi, Brady, Jaden and Aspen, and one future great-granddaughter, Hadleigh Joy; her mother-in-law, Glenna Kingsley; her sisters, Verna (Victor) Jordan, Arnetta (Steve) Pike and Mary (Wayne) Ewald; her brothers, Lemuel McRorey, Joe McRorey and Carl (Tanya) Nordine; and brothers-in-law, Robert (Lisa) Kingsley and Ron (Lisa) Kingsley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Vernon H. McRorey and Dorothy LaVern Nordine; her father-in-law, Clyde Kingsley; and her brothers, William, Lonnie, Dennis, Loelan and Beryl.
A memorial service will be held at Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 10:30 a.m.
