S.E. Arnold, 84, of 1224 Walworth St. died about 10:30 a.m. Saturday at his home.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Coker-Mathews-Peters Chapel with Rev. E.L. Creamer and Rev. K.N. Linden officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery and pallbearers will be grandsons, James Manning, Richard Manning, Ernie Manning, Jody Arnold, Paul Arnold and Weldon Morgan.

Mr. Arnold was born on Aug. 22, 1889 in Hughes Springs, the son of George and Fannie Arnold.

On December 18, 1910 in Douglassville he married Lee Ola Kirkland who preceded him in death in 1966. On Dec. 3, 1969 in Greenville, he married Margaret Phillips who survives.

He was retired from the Ohio Oil Company and was a member of Third Street Full Gospel Church.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Joel Arnold of Greenville and William B. Arnold of Paris; one daughter, Mrs. J.D. Manning of Paris; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death in 1960 by one son, David J. Arnold.
