Maude T. Tatham, 84, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Maude was born on February 28, 1923 in Lyman, Washington, the daughter of John & Elvia Seagle Cabe.

She was raised and attended school in Lyman, graduating from Lyman High School with the class of 1941. She then attended Skagit Business College in Mount Vernon and Beauty School in Marquart, Michigan.

On May 4, 1958 she was united in marriage to Louis Tatham in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and with Louis a career Air Force Officer they made their home in several locations. While living in New York Maude was a buyer for women’s apparel for the Air Force PX.

After Louis’ retirement from the Air Force in 1963 they moved to Sedro-Woolley and Maude worked as a beautician at Northern State Hospital for a while until purchasing Vale’s Apparel in Burlington which she operated for several years.

Maude enjoyed cooking, and she made wonderful dinners; working in her flower garden, and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

Maude is survived by her son, Michael (Joanne) Osborne, of Sedro-Woolley; three grandchildren: Mick (Trisa) Osborne, of Mount Vernon, Travis Osborne, of Walla Walla, and Brianne Osborne, of Mount Vernon; three great-grandchildren: Mikey, Blade and Amber Osborne; brother-in-law, Jack Taylor, of Sedro-Woolley; two sisters-in-law: Margaret Cabe, of Lyman and Blanche Tatham, of Hamilton; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis, in 2001; three brothers: Leland, Morris and Elmer Cabe; and three sisters: Doris Beckman, Eva Taylor and Edith Simpson.

Maude’s family request that memorials be made to Skagit Hospice, PO Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 27, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley, with Pastor David Holt of the Central Valley Assembly of God Church in Burlington officiating.

Interment will follow at the Lyman Cemetery.
