She was a secretary for Stokes Electric Company, Palmer Township, until retiring, and previously for Albarell Electric, Bethlehem, and her father's business, the former George Tombler Electric Co., Easton. She was also a bookkeeper for Mack Printing, Easton.
She taught genealogy courses at Lehigh County Community College, 1994-95.
Born in Bushkill Township, she was a daughter of Anna (Bill) Tombler of Wilson, and the late George E. Tombler Sr.
She was a member and choir member of Christ Lutheran Church, Easton, and president of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
A founding member of the Jacobsburg Historical Society, she received the Outstanding Amateur Archaeologist of Pennsylvania in 1994.
She was a trombone player for the former Earl Held All Girls Band of the Lehigh Valley for 50 years.
Survivors: Husband and mother; son, Brian of Bethlehem; sisters, Elaine, wife of Willard Rissmiller of Westboro, Mass., and Marilyn Deichman of Plainfield Township and JoAnn, wife of Earl Houser of Palmer Township; brother, George Jr. of Glendon, and three grandchildren.
