Born in Tennesee, third of nine children of James Richardson Roe and Mary Polly Tompkins. Migrated to Kentucky at sometime before 1874. Married John Samuel Adwell Ca 1874. Between 1875 and 1894 they had seven children. In 1901, John and Sarah moved their family to Itasca, Hill Co., Texas by wagon train. This is where she resided until her death in 1923. Sarah is interred in City Cemetery, Itasca, Hill Co., Texas.
