Oliver Nelson died in Denver, Colo., July 2, 1942, at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 12 days.
He was born on a farm in Webster county, Iowa, May 20, 1861, and lived with his parents on a farm in Boone county until retired from farming and moved to Stratford with his parents. In 1899 he, with his mother, moved to Denver to make his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Norling and lived in that city for 18 years. Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, two nieces and four nephews.
Mrs. Norling writes as follows: "On his sickbed he often reminded those around him of the importance of prayer to gain the kingdom of heaven."
Funeral rites were conducted on July 6 in Trinity Methodist church, Denver by Dr. Marble. Interment was in Crown Hill cemetery.
Local friends extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
