Mr. Harold J. Austin, age 89 passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 in the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, August 22, 2016, from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home.
Mr. Austin was an Army Air Force veteran and a retired Police Captain of the Brownsville Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Archie Lee and Mae Wright Austin and one sister: Betty Alexander.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years: Betty Foster Austin, Oakfield, TN, two sons: Kenneth Austin (Ginger), Jackson, TN and Wayne Austin (Debbie), Alamo, TN, two sisters: Jean Austin, Brownsville, TN and Geraldine Parimore, Millington, TN, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
