Frances Gwendolyn Rowland Anderson, 98, "a life well lived and remembered with love," passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Interment: 3 p.m. Thursday in Albany Cemetery, Albany. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please take a dear friend or loved one to lunch and remember Frances. Frances was born in Cleburne to G.B. and Mattie Lacey Rowland. Her family moved to Albany when she was 3, and that is where her wonderful stories and memories began. She was very active in school, a good student who excelled in basketball, track, dance, choir and, her favorite, drama. She was the last surviving member of 31 in her class of 1933. She attended business school in Fort Worth, then married Casey Anderson, also from Albany. They lived in Abilene, then moved to Fort Worth, where they lived many years. She worked as a bookkeeper all of her working life. She and Casey moved to Clyde until his death. Frances then moved to Quitman, where she made many friends and lived there until she returned to Fort Worth to be with family. She was an avid reader and loved Big Band music, especially "Stardust." She will always be remembered for her quick wit, imagination and wonderful sense of humor. This earth was so blessed by her life and heaven will never be the same. Survivors: She will be so deeply missed by her daughter, Karen and husband, Paul Burris; grandchildren, Terri Johnson, Brent Burris, Bret and Angie Burris, Kasey and Justin Townsend; great-grandchildren, Courtney Johnson, Mattie, Jacie and Tate Townsend; and numerous other relatives.
