Edward George Renoll, 94 of York, passed away peacefully at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, on Wednesday, August 17.

Mr. Renoll was born in York on July 19, 1922 and was the son of the late George Edward and Ada Fay (Fishel) Renoll.

Ed proudly served in the Army during WW II as a Technician 4th grade with the 370th Field Artillery Battalion of the 99th Infantry Division, nicknamed the “Battle Babies.” He was a recipient of the Bronze Star as well as the Purple Heart. He retired from Borg Warner as an engineer and also farmed part time. Ed was an entrepreneur, dabbling in many businesses, one of which was being an owner of a liquor store, even though he didn’t drink. He was a 50 plus year member of the Free and Accepted Masons. Ed will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his sisters, Violet and Ada Mae; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Furman, Luther, George Jr., Edna and Mamie.

Following cremation, a memorial service to honor Ed’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 26 at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Roger Mentzer officiating. A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery.
