Obituary:

Mr. Sherman Denny age 74, of Mt.Vernon passed away Tuesday August 26th, 2014 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital after a long illness. He was born on February 2, 1940 in Rockcastle County the son of the late Roscoe and Docy Kirby Denny. He was a retired salvage operator, enjoyed wresting, NASCAR, dirt track racing, and was a member of the Church of God in Jesus Name.

Survivors are: seven sons; William, Jerry, Frankie, Timmy, Michael, Freddie, and David Denny all of Mt.Vernon. One daughter; Lois Denny of Mt.Vernon. One brother; Roger Denny of Cincinnati, OH. Three sisters; Corina McDaniel of Dayton, OH, Frances Smith of Findley, OH, and Jean Mink of Nicholasville, KY. Nineteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren also survive. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by: his wife; Mrs. Sadie Kirby Denny, by six brothers; Earl, Stevie, George, Tom, and Floyd Denny, and by one sister; Sadie Best.
