Kenneth Kirby
May 27, 1932 ~ August 18, 2016 (age 84) Kenneth Kirby, age 84, of Mt. Vernon, KY. passed away Thursday August 18th, 2016 at the Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on May 27th, 1932, to the late Ulysess and Velma (Renner) Kirby in Well Hope, KY. On May 16th, 1961, he was united in holy matrimony to Mamie Louise (Bullock) Kirby and from that union came two children: Kenneth Wayne and Linda Gale. Mr. Kirby was a farmer by trade and worked in construction as well. He was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed gardening.
Those left to celebrate Mr. Kirby’s life are his wife of 55 years Louise Kirby; two children Kenneth Wayne Kirby of Mt. Vernon, KY. and Linda Gale (Kevin) Hamm and his sons of Mt. Vernon, KY.; one grandchild Emily Elizabeth Roark; one brother Arvil (Patsy) Kirby of Brodhead, KY; two sisters Lena (Wilbert) Bustle of Mt. Vernon, KY. and Lois(Teddy) Bussell of Brodhead, KY.; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents Kenneth was preceeded in death by his sisters Sadie Denny, and Mary Denny.
Visitation for Mr. Kirby will be Friday August 19th, 2016 from 5pm-8pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday August 19th, 2016 at 2PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Tim Hampton officiating; Burial will be in Cresthaven Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
