Sarah Frances Whitlatch, pioneer resident of Klamath county, succumbed to an illness of over a year's duration, Monday morning at 11:30. She was a native of Jefferson county, Iowa, being born Sept. 7, 1869. When called she was aged 62 years, four months and 14 days. On November 11, 1888, she was united in marriage to A.A. Whitlatch at Clay Center, Neb. After a short residence, in that section, Mr. and Mrs. Whitlatch moved to South Dakota, where they resided for a period of five years. Later they moved to Indian Territory, and just prior to leaving that country for Klamath county, they resided in the state of Arkansas. Twenty years ago they established their residence n Klamath county.
She joined the Methodist church and was a member for 48 years. Mrs. Whitlatch was the mother of seven children, of which only one son survives. To mourn her loss she leaves her husband, A.A. Whitlatch, her son James E. Whitlatch; a brother, J.A. Cline, of Pomona, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. H.C. Brown of Blookfield, Iowa; Mrs. A.E. Myers of Los Angeles, Mrs. F.E. Boesburg, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Pansy, Wehr, of Klamath Falls, and Mrs. Joe E. Foster, of Keno Ore.
The remains are in care of the Klamath funeral home, 925 High street, where they will remain until Wednesday noon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:16, at the Pilgrim Holiness church, Keno, Rev. George Scofield officiating. Interment will follow in Keno cemetery.
