On March 12, 1891 the Albert and Christina Shur family arrived at the end of the railroad line at Ager, California, coming from Iowa, a five day journey. A box car held their belongings. With the Shurs had come their two daughters, Hattie and Delcy, Uncle Walter and Mrs. Shur's parents, Andrew and Harriet Took. They began the trip up Topsy Grade and arrived in Keno and found a temporary home. Grandma Took was a sister of Mr. Snowgoose.
