He married Kathy Joan Montgomery on January 15, 1989, and they divorced in 1997 after the birth of their daughter, Alex. He later married Deborah Jayne "Debbie" Fournier on August 15, 2001 in Reno, Nevada, and they enjoyed many years together before his passing on their 15th anniversary. He also had a son, Josh, from a previous girlfriend.
One of his greatest loves was the Lord. After a near-death experience in 1989 he turned his life around and embraced his savior Jesus Christ, and helped spread the word of the Lord.
A skilled carpenter, he could build almost anything, and specialized in staircases, framing, and finish carpentry. He made a number of fun things in recent years, including a Victorian-style birdhouse and a wall mirror.
He enjoyed war movies, Westerns, and books by Zane Grey, and was a fabulous storyteller (even if he exaggerated a bit sometimes). He was a big fan of spicy foods, especially Mexican, and was always up for a good clambake.
An exceptionally hard worker by nature, he continued to do what he could at his construction job despite his diagnosis of lung cancer until he was physically unable to work any longer.
He was survived by his widow, Debbie; a daughter, Alex; a son, Josh; six siblings, Chuck, Libby, Andy, Tood, Caroline, and Mike; his mother, Ellen Kroeger; and numerous nieces and nephews.∼One of the best journyman carpenters around his parts. Loved by all. A good Christian father and husband. RIP, Chip.∼Beloved husband, father, son, brother, true friend to all he met. Lived his life as a carpenter all his life..well
loved by all who knew him.
