Clara Arthur passes away. Clara Belle Arthur,86, RR#4 Harrison Township died Sunday at 11:50 a.m. in the local hospital after a week's serious illness. Her health had been failing for several years. Mrs. Arthur was born in Knox Co., Ind. Dec.24,1866, the daughter of Jesse and Susan (Johnson) Lett, coming to Daviess County when a small girl. She was a member of the Baptist Church. On Sept.12,1886, she married William Arthur & he passed away June 2,1952. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Clyde (Ursula) Wallace, died in 1947 & a son, Henry Hamilton Arthur lives in Harrison Township. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren & a sister, Mrs. Carrie Armes. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Gill Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Wake in charge. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call at Gill's to pay their respects.
