VARINA JOANN HOWARD, 73, of Duncan, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2007 in Temple.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan, with Rev. Richard Stewart officiating. Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Joann was born Nov. 24, 1933 in Marlow, to Finis W. and Gladis Apple Halmark. She graduated from Marlow High School and attended business college. She married Robert B. Howard in 1955 in Tulsa. He preceded her in death 1985.
She lived in Marlow all her life. Joann was an Avon independent sales representive for 42 years. She enjoyed needlework and painting. She was a member of the Eastern Star, all veteran organizations, and the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marlow.
Survivors include a son, Douglas Bruce Howard of Duncan; two grandchildren, Emily Howard and Lori Littig, both of Duncan; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Noven Halmark of Duncan, and Sandra Whitehead of Marlow; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Halmark; and a sister, Norene Gambele.
