TAKEN FROM HUSBAND AND BABE
Husband Stricken With Grief Has the Sympathy of the Entire Community

The people of Elyria were terribly shocked last Tuesday when the word was passed around that Mrs. Jack Dodge was dead. About midnight Monday Mrs. Dodge gave birth to a baby girl but it was apparent at that time that her condition was serious and Dr. Smith of Burwell called in Dr. Weekes for consultation. Everything possible was done to save the life of the young mother but she died in less than twenty-four hours following the birth of the child, a victim of uremic poisoning.
Pearl Simpson was born in 1890 and was a few months past thirty years of age at the time of her death. She grew to young womanhood in the neighborhood of Elyria. She made early preparations to enter the ranks of the school teachers and for six years she was numbered among the successful teachers of the county. She was a member of the Baptist church at Elyria and served the church of her choice as organist for many years. She was a girl beloved by all who knew her as she was ever ready to help those in trouble and was always cheerful and happy. She became the wife of Jack Dodge September 15, 1920 and their brief married life was an especially happy one.
The blow that Jack is called upon to bear arouses the united sympathy of the entire community who feel with him the loss that has so unexpectedly come to his household. Mrs. Dodge leaves to mourn her going, her husband, father, mother, a sister Hazel and the tiny baby girl.
The funeral is to be held this afternoon at the home and interment will be made in the Ord cemetery. Nelson Gardner of the Christian church who married Mr. and Mrs. Dodge will direct the services.
