R. Lawrence Ball, 86, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Sunset Memorial Hospital in Las Vegas.

Born Sept. 1, 1913, in Toluca to Roscoe L. and Lucy Burgess Ball, he married Hildamae Parker on April 26, 1941, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Suzanne Holling; one son, Lawrence; one sister, Elizabeth Lambourn; and one brother, Kendall.

One brother preceded him in death.

He received his bachelor of arts degree in 1935 and his law degree in 1937, both from the University of Illinois.

He began his practice in Peoria in 1939, where he practiced with Clarence W. Heyl. In 1941, he formed a partnership with Lowell R. McConnell under the name of Ball and McConnell, where he practiced until 1944. He later formed an association with Oswald D. Vespa, with whom he practiced until 1969. He then was a sole practitioner until retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Peoria County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.

Burial will be in Wenona Cemetery in Wenona.
