Richard M. Sloter, 66, of Peoria, formerly of Alton, passed away at 6:50pm Friday, August 12, 2016 at Heights Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Peoria Heights.
Richard was born March 10, 1950 in Canton, IL to Edward and Viola Perkins Sloter.
Surviving are three sisters, Leta (Dan) Ryan, Patricia Barrilleaux, and Sharon (Ray) Gates; one brother, Robert Sloter; and several nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and step-father, Stephen Mitrovich.
Richard served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and had been an engineer on several river boats on the Mississippi. He enjoyed watching car races.
A graveside service for Richard will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Chillicothe Cemetery in Chillicothe, IL. Pastor John Rothfusz will officiate.
