I first visited this grave and his wife's grave (Utie Mae) (buried side by side) in the mid eighties when my husband's ninety-five year old grandmother, Hazel Bayly Brown, wanted to visit the graves of her relatives. Samuel Alonzo and Utie Mae are Hazel's aunt and uncle.
They had two sons, Carl and Guy Beers. They and their sons had a grocery store in Downey. Guy is buried in Downey District Cemetery and Carl in entombed in the mausaleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Long Beach.
